Growing Increasingly Alarmed

In the past few weeks, Jillian has been hitting new milestones at a rather accelerated rate. First she figured out how to get from being on her stomach to sitting. Admittedly that was a rather exciting development since it meant that we no longer had to upright her whenever she grew tired of her belly and began howling. Then the crawling began, and her new found mobility was both exciting and exhausting.

But then, we turned out backs for a second and found her like this:

And a couple days later I came into her room to find her like this (yes we're lowering her mattress pronto):

Then today she crawled behind me to the baby gate at the top of the stairs. I looked over to see this:

She just has far more confidence than I'm comfortable with. She's not afraid to get hurt either (she doesn't enjoy it but that that doesn't stop her from trying again). I'm starting to grow worried that the authorities will be called because just as soon as one forehead bruise goes away she manages to acquire another.

Once they get the hang of it, they just keep on going at an ever accelerating rate. I wouldn't worry too much, though. Kids / toddlers are tougher than you think. She'll fall and maybe cry, but the bruise will go away in a day or two and she'll forget all about it before you know it.

Holy Moly - you have an early walker on your hands for sure...I won't doubt she'll be walking by 10 months...you need eyes in the back of your head ;)

Wow! Go Jillian! We're still content sitting around here, thank goodness. I keep thinking that our non-mobile days are numbered, but so far so good.

Holy crap! With the rate she's going, she'll be driving by Christmas!!! Yikes!

Wow. Scary stuff! I love the delighted look she almost always has on her face though. She just seems sooo happy!

I cannot believe how big she is getting. it seems like just yesterday she was born.

Hailey keeps hitting herself with toys too. people must think we are terrible for allowing her to play with toys that give her bruises.
