To Follow-up on the WIC Comments...

I know it didn't really come across in the post, but I didn't take the cashier's comments too seriously. In all honesty, I found the whole conversation rather humorous especially given the other items I was purchasing. I wish I could play it off as looking too young, but considering that she had to check my ID for the alcohol purchase I do not think that was the case.

One thing that does irritate me are anonymous comments. I do not mind opinions that differ from my own. In fact, I think both responses made good points. I just wish people were brave enough to attach their name to their thoughts. I have NEVER posted an anonymous comment to a blog. If something is worth saying then I had better be willing to stand by my opinion.

Anonymous said that you didn't have to live below poverty level to receive WIC, but you would have to bring in less than $26,000.00 gross anually, who could survive on that? I would be offended if someone thought I needed that kind of assistance too, but would also see the humor in it as well. People need to lighten up!

Just to give you an idea... the $26,000? Yeah.. not much (if even) above it in much of my family. Depressed area & history of poverty = shitty chances.

Hub and I both feel a little like failures in the money making regard. It's pretty sad for two highly educated college graduates. (Hub has 3 different degrees (B.S., B.A. - gotten at the same time - and an A.S. gotten later) I have a B.S. and am hoping to get a grad certificate). I guess that's what you get for following the thing you really love doing. Chances are lots of other people like doing it too, making competition stiff and pay low.

Why I felt compelled to share that, I have no idea. Cheers!

I will put my name. It was a shallow comment and you are no better than anyone else. Stop acting like it!
