Plastic Bottle Carnage

Cujo has a basket filled with toys. But his favorite toy above all is...
That's right. My dog loves playing with plastic bottles more than anything. It seems that his primary mission in life is to chew the lid and ring off of them. Once he has accomplished that, he has no more use for it and leaves the carnage behind for a nap. He'll let the bottles accumulate in his toy box for days, and then one night he'll get an itching for destruction. Last night, the devastation left behind amounted to eight bottles.

Either my dog is completely bizarre or perhaps I should be marketing this toy concept to PetsMart.

Oh, at least you don't have a tissue bandit. Three of our dogs L O V E tissue. So much so that one sneaks up on my lap and will try to snatch them out of the tiussue box.

And it is in the trash, the door to the bathroom must be closed, they are insatible.

Further proof that animals (and most kids) prefer toys that are NOT the ones you actually paid for. I run into this with my cats all the time!!

We have a lab sheppard mix who does the same thing. She LOVES to try to take the lids off of the bottles. Then once she gets em' off she leaves em' in the middle of the floor.

She is SUCH a child.

When my parent's dog was a puppy, they used to put empty plastic bottles inside a sock. It was soft for his teeth, yet he loved the noise. Atleast cujo keeps himself amused.

My SIL's dog does the exact same thing. I think it's funny. =)

In a similar vein, I full expect my children to prefer the toy box to the toy....some themes are universal!

My dog loves plastic bottles too... she'll play with them for hours. She also loves empty tissue boxes. When I drop one on the floor to crush it for the garbage, she runs over and snatches it from under my foot before I can step on it. Then she throws it around the living room and pushes her nose into the opening. Good times.
