Father's Day, A Little Belated

Yesterday was Jeramy's first Father's Day as an almost dad, although he wasn't around for most of it. He was off on a guys only camping trip where he enjoyed very testosterone oriented activities such as shooting and riding his quad. I suppose it was all quite fitting and called for, considering he is about to embark on his last summer of freedom (or at least that is what I've termed our remaining months as DINKS). All that aside, I have realized over the past few months what a wonderful father Jeramy is going to be. I've always believed that he will be a good dad, but as the months of pregnancy have progressed I can actually start to see him becoming that person. And watching this transformation has been one of the most rewarding times in our ten years of marriage. Sometimes it is just the simple things, like how exciting it is when he feels the baby moving or how he tells me he'll love me even with the stretch marks. Other times it is talking about the future and what our little girl might be like.

So Happy Father's Day, Jeramy. I love you.

I didn't get to spend "Almost Father's Day" with my hubby, either, since he's out of town. But I agree -- having him spend the day enjoying himself, while that is still relatively easy to do, is probably the best gift anyway.

A good daddy is a must in my mind! I would not have gotten through the first few weeks without the hub. It's so neat to see him with the baby, you are going to love it.
Happy almost Father's Day to Jeramy!
