Today marks 40 weeks. Jillian's due date. And despite what my ticker says there are 0 days to go. My doctor's appointment today went well. It seems that Miss Jillian is quite cozy in my ute with plenty of amniotic fluid, a healthy heart rate and no signs of stress. The other good news is that I'm starting to make some progress as I'm 1 cm dilated and 50% effaced. This doesn't necessary tell me that much about when I'll go into labor...maybe next week, maybe this week, maybe tomorrow. But it is nice to hear that my body is actually preparing for this momentous event. My next appointment with another u/s and NST is Thursday morning, so we'll see what that brings.
In the meantime, I'm just trying to relax and get the house a little cleaner bit by bit. Jeramy on the other hand has been quite anxious, and I'm pretty sure he wants this little girl out of me more than I do! Oh and here is the 40 week belly pic. I think this explains why my back (hell, my entire body) is so sore these days.

Yay!!! I'm so glad that Jillian is at least getting ready to come into this crazy world. I can't wait to meet her :) You look so cute in your black and white polka dotted shirt!
woohoo for 40 weeks! good luck if i don't comment again before the big event (i'm just over 38 wks now and soooo ready to be done)...can't wait to hear the birth story and see that lil girl!!
Wow!! Jillian sure must be comfy, though I can't imagine she has much room left. I can't wait to meet her!

Did the doc stretch you or strip your membranes?
Nancy - She did start stretching me, but stopped when she saw me wincing in pain. What can I say, I'm a wuss!

You are looking absolutely lovely and I am glad you are not overly anxious. I will be checking frequently although I hope you have more time to relax before your amazing daughter joins your world.
And I don't think I want to understand "stretching" at this point. Ouch.
Oh, well happy due date Jillian! My doctor never did an internal so I never knew what I was at. I always asked her to but no dice. Lucky you!

That's just what happened to me... no progress until the 40 week appt, when the doctor said things were slowly starting to get moving... and then BAMN! Several hours later and I'm back at the hospital. I hope it's the same for you. :)

When you took on this pregnancy, you were really in for the long haul!! 40 weeks! You go girl!! Can't wait for her to arrive, and you look fantastic!!!! :)
Congrats...any time now! Just as PP said, I too had an appointment (3 days after my due date) where I was progressing slowly and went to the hospital that night.
