It's a...

Girl! A healthy and impressively average girl! Jeramy and I are in shock and overwhelmingly happy. Here is the evidence of her girlness...or at least that is what the ultrasound tech told me as I couldn't figure out which lines represented those all important three lines of her reproductive organs. I fully plan on sharing this picture along with the obligatory bath and miscellaneous nude baby photos with her future boyfriends as part of a conspiracy to cause undue embarrassment for my future teenager.

My daughter displays impressive flexibility as she spent the bulk of her time with her foot in her hand. She must have inherited such skills from her Aunt Jaime, as I never could do so much as touch my toes. As a bonus this has scored me another peek at her in two weeks, since such posture does not allow for a good look at her spine. Otherwise she looked perfectly healthy and measured in the 55th percentile for her age at 14 oz. Her little heart was pumping away at a beat ranging from the upper 140's to lower 150's. We are scheduled to have a fetal echo done in a couple weeks because Jeramy's mother and sister both have heart problems. We are not overly concerned about this though as Jeramy had an echo in the past that showed no problems, and we believe this particular disorder requires a parent with the condition.

We have decided on a name, but the spelling is a bit up in the air. So maybe you all could weigh in. Which do you like better?

Jillian Carol

or

Gillian Carol

Anyhow, I'll leave you a picture of our little girl in her favorite pose:

Congratulations!! Have you added the pink ribbon to spot"ette"s blanket yet? How exciting. I am so glad you got answers and everything looks good. I am in favor of the Gillian spelling. But I may be partial. I loved the movie "To Gillian on her 37th birthday." I am truly happy for your news!

Yeah! It is so good to hear such wonderful news! Congratulations on a healthy baby GIRL! I wonder if everyone with strong feelings about having a boy will turn out to be wrong...?

And, since you asked, I like Jillian.

Congrats!!! Awesome news. Glad she cooperated (mostly). You guys are really rocking with the names -- you have it narrowed down already?! Impressive. I like both spellings, but my vote would be for Gillian.

Hooray for your little girl!!! So glad she didn't keep you guessing. My gender prediction was wrong. :) "Your daughter" -- how does it feel to say that? :D I vote for Jillian, although Gillian is a beautiful spelling too.

Congratulations!

My vote is for Jillian, because I had a girlfriend with the name Gillian, and people always spelled it with a soft G and it drove her nuts.

I love the name - and she is adorable!

Now you can add the pink ribbon for her blanket that you made!

Congrats!!

Yeah!!! Congrats on your little girl!

Congratulations! I love the name and would be happy with either the J or the G. I guess it depends upon whether you are comfortable having all J's as your first initials (and spitting on the Evil Eye, what about other kids? Do you turn into the Duggars?).

YAY! Congratulations!! You're Having a Girl!!!

So glad everything looks great and awesome that you get to see her again in 2 weeks.

I think I like Gillian better, but either look good.

LMFAO on the Duggar's comparison, Jendeis! But honestly that is a worry of mine. The J name thing...not the 18 kids (that would be quite an RE bill).

I just new it was a girl. Glad "Spot" is flexible too. I bet that was cute to see her that way. Now you can add your pink ribbon to your brown blanket.

As far as the spelling I guess it depends on what you are going to call her. If she happens to end up will jill as a nickname then I prefer jillian because if not, people will spell it that way anyway or it will look like Gill. Plus I like the all J names. kinda neat.

Congrats! It's so funny though because when I saw that ultrasound before reading your post I still totally thought it was a boy....I swear I saw "the turtle", lol. However, in lieu of finding out it is actually a girl....I like Gillian =)

Congratulations =) I like Jillian.

I love the profile pic! I vote Jillian. I want to be able to call her Jilly Bean. Also, when I see Gillian I read it like the man's name Gill. There was a bus driver named Gill that drove me nuts too, his side job was a clown. Seriously.

Congradulations!!! I have been reading your blog since about november when you were still trying. My hubby and I are thinking about having kids lately and reading some of the blogs helps. I have a tipped uterus, endometriosis and uterine fibroids. I like the spelling of Jillian Carol. Congrats again!!!! Oh and thanks for blogging!!!

Congrats!

And I vote for Jillian! Unless you don't want all Js in the family!

I Friken New It! I'm A Winner, Where's my Prize :p.

Lol,

I'm so freeking happy today (You can tell, I say freeking a lot when I'm this happy)

What a great day, what great news.

Congratulations!
She is still Beautiful.

I like Jillian personally, it looks more feminine, the G throws people like me off and I'd end up calling her Gilligan (like off of Gilligans Island, but I dont know if I even spelled that name right)

Congrats again.

I like the J because J's look prettier when writing in cursive. ;)

So adorable!!! I'm with you in that I can't figure out that first ultrasound image and how that shows her girl parts.

I like the spelling "Jillian" because with "Gillian", I would think it might be pronounced with a hard "G" (unless that is your intention).

sarah23 said...

P.S. I was wrong about the gender, too!

Laura said...

Congratulations! Yay for a healthy girl - even if it meant that I was wrong! :)

Sorry I am just now catching up.

Congratulations, Jillian Carol is the best name for a daughter. My Jillian Carol is now 18. The only thing I wish we did was spell her name Jillianne Carol.
