Apparently I Missed a Cultural Phenomenon

All I've heard about all week is the Sex and the City movie. Can you believe that I've never even seen an episode of that show? Despite my access to all pay movie channels, I've managed to miss out on this. I'm thinking of adding the show to my Netflix queue figuring that I'll need something to keep me occupied during late nights after Jillian is born. What do you guys think of the show?

Oh and a big thanks to C. I never even thought of getting a Netflix subscription until reading her blog. Now I'm totally loving it, even if Jeramy got into the queue and changed the order of the movies. (I got paybacks last night as Hairspray finally arrived). After hearing other friends describe the assortment of informercials that air in the middle of the night, I quickly realized that I would need something a little more interesting to keep me away during nighttime feedings after this little girl is born.

I never watched the show regularly but when I did catch it I liked it. So maybe it would be a good idea to catch up. I have heard that you can watch the movie and understand what is going on without ever having seen the show but watching the show first fills in any holes and you appreciate the movie that Much more.

C is the redwings fan who happens to live in Seattle. I am sorry that you are still upset over the loss of your team a few years ago in the big game. All I can say is atleast you have a new season upon you in the next few months.

I thought it might have been C that you were talking about. And yeah there is always next season...I can't wait! My sis got me addicted to football.

Don't worry about night time feedings, I sleep through most of them. It's daytime feedings that you will want something for. I feel like I'm always nursing and I can never watch a show from start to finish, a TVO would be great!

About the weight loss. Don't worry about it. I've always struggled with my weight until now. Nursing burns so many calories that I haven't done anything and I've lost the weight. I drink a meal replacement shake every morning but that is more out of necessity (no time to make breakfast) then losing weight. You will be shocked at how quickly it comes off!

Ps. Sex and the City is still my all time favorite show - you will love it!

I'll be totally honest and say that I too have never seen an episode of SATC. Could never figure out what the craze was honestly...and the fact that SJP just scares me cause I always think of her as that witch in Hocus Pokus. (She doesn't look much diff in life then in HP. LOL) I hope it is an enjoyable show, anything is better then infomercials...well almost anything. LOL.

I tried to watch an episode or two, but just couldn't get into it.

As far as Netflix goes, I tried them, but prefer Blockbuster. I like that I can take my movies into the store and trade them out for in-store movies.

Wait, you're supposed to stay awake during those late night feedings? Joking. (maybe)

I threw a season finale dress up party... The first seasons are much better than the last & the movie in my opinion, but by the last season you are so in love with the characters it doesn't matter!

I just got shivers ... "nighttime feedings".

A little piece of assvice cause I'm full of it - when you are up in the middle of the night feeding, don't watch tv. The glare of the tv and the sound can confuse the baby into learning day from night. Better to always stay in a dimly lit room with little noise.

My advice of a totally different kind: Netflix will let you and Jeramy maintain separate queues! My husband and I have one account, two separate queues, and Netflix does the work of "negotiating" between them, guaranteeing that we always have at least one movie from each of our queues (and also makes it impossible to add the same movie to both queues, so you won't get duplicates). We still try to be kind to each other, telling each other what we have at the top, but it's so much easier to maintain our own movie wish lists!

The show is so funny to me, because I like it, but it irritates me, too. A lot of times, the plots were so superficial and I HATED that Carrie broke up with Aiden (if you catch up later, you'll know what I am talking about).

It's not just you! I never watched Sex & the City or Grey's Anatomy. Not for any real reason, I don't think they are bad shows. I just never got into them.

But anytime people are gathered around at work, I always feel like the outsider!

I rarely have cable, and never pay for HBO, so I've never really watched it either. :) What I've seen seems good though.
