It seems that life doesn't always go as planned yet flexibility is an art that I have yet to master.

Almost Wordless Wednesday
The other night we found this guy (or gal) giving us the stare down. At first he was by the garage and then flew over by the master bedroom. Jeramy even saw him the other morning. If my photo ID is right, I think it is a Barred Owl.
Super cool!!! I love owls. They always remind me of the Bearenstein Bear house at Cedar Point (an amusement park in Ohio). They had a forest area and when you walked up a certain hill, it played an owl hooting at you.
Yup! Definitely a barred owl. Great photos! Have you heard them call yet? Not your traditional "Hoot Owl" as people like to call Great Horned owls.
Go to www.enature.com and type in barred owl to get their song. Hub loves the whinny sound in it. (as in horse's whinny... did not misspell whiny. haha)
At the old house we did get a pair of bald eagles and even a baby once. They would perch on top of the tall trees behind us on their way to Redondo to hunt fish.

Fricking sweet.
He (or she) is almost as cute as Jilly Bean!
I didn't realize bird watching was part of your repertoire ; )
LOL
I love owls - don't see enough of them around here!

That is very cool!!
Cool owl. The best we've ever gotten was a blue heron, which ate all the fish in our pond. Dad got pissed off over that. :P
You guys need to get like a bald eagle or grizzly bear in your backyard or something.
